Bill Gates’ Four Motivational Lessons

The world doesn’t have too many people like Bill Gates. Microsoft co-founder and American philanthropist Bill Gates is one of the world’s richest people, with an estimated fortune of US$118 Billion.

Microsoft Founded in 1975, Microsoft is one of the world’s most well-known companies. Gates is widely recognized as one of the world’s greatest entrepreneurs. He has shifted his focus at the company since 2000 from corporate work to charitable work through his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

His most motivational lessons are listed below.

Start as Early as You Can

Make your career success by following Gates’ path! As early as 13, Bill Gates was programmed to work with computers, and his life revolved around technology. Gates’ introduction to emerging technology during the early days would have been totally different from the sleek, superior models we use today, but even just being around the technology meant a lot to him.

Achieving long-term goals can be accomplished by starting early, and acting upon dreams can lead to success. The more people tell you that you can’t accomplish something, the more determination you have.

Be Your Own Boss

It is directly related to Gates’ co-founding of Microsoft at the age of 20, effectively transforming himself into his own boss. From the beginning, he was able to build his ’empire’ instead of making millions for others.

As Bill puts it himself: “If you don’t build your dream, someone else will hire you to build there.”

Learn from your Mistakes

In order to succeed in life, you need to be humble and self-aware. To be successful, many people believe they must complete every task with 100% accuracy. Of course, this is preferable, but mistakes happen – we’re all human. However, Bill points out that it’s important to take responsibility, learn from your mistakes, and step up when you make a mistake. As Bill says: “If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault, so don’t whine about your mistakes; learn from them.” However, it is important to step up and take responsibility for your mistakes.

Be Proud of Yourself

You should always keep yourself leveled and avoid comparing yourself to others. In spite of your frustration, you should keep your expectations realistic if you do not see immediate results or do not repeat your hero’s success. It will boost your confidence and make you happier if you learn to appreciate yourself, and your skills.

Bill Gates says: “Don’t compare yourself with anyone in this world..if you do so, you are insulting yourself.”
